What is the purpose of the Charitable Trust Leadership Forum?
The purpose of the Charitable Trust Leadership Forum (the "Forum") is to facilitate dialogue around the new Fiduciary Standard amongst an elite segment of foundation executives dedicated to fiduciary excellence. Through ongoing discussion, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how best to lead the charge in a new era of fiduciary conduct, thereby reducing regulatory risk and promoting exceptional stewardship practices to key stakeholders.

What is my time commitment as a Forum member?
Forum discussions will be held once a month via phone conference, and will last no more than 45 minutes. There is no obligation to attend every meeting, but the most robust and enlightening dialogue will take place when Forum members are able to actively participate, share, and explore each others’ perspectives and experiences. Ideas, innovative strategies, and regulatory updates will be recorded and posted on an exclusive extranet site, so there will be no administrative burden as a Forum participant.

What is my role?
Each candidate for participation in the Forum has been hand-selected based upon his/her demonstrated commitment to fiduciary integrity and stewardship excellence. The thought leadership of this group will be dependent on the contributions of each individual member regarding his/her experiences, challenges, successes and best practices. The only requisite of members is to enter each discussion with an inquisitive mind and a willingness to learn and share with this elite group of peers.

What will I gain as a member of the Forum?
Beyond garnering insights into leading-edge practices of other well respected foundations across the country, the Forum offers a rare opportunity to build relationships with some of the most forward-thinking executives in the non-profit world today. This exclusive group will set precedents as leaders in their industry, and each member will serve an active role in shaping ideas, strategies, and insights that will be helpful to charitable institutions nationwide.

How long will the Forum be in existence?
We anticipate the first phase of Forum meetings to last six (6) months, at which time we will reevaluate the value and desired next steps of the group. The output of the Forum is singularly dictated by its members – and could result in a published list of best practices, targeted speaking opportunities, or simply the continuation of the Forum as a discussion group focused on maximizing value for stakeholders.

What is the cost to be a member?
Forum membership is by invitation only and is extremely limited (only 10-20 executives at a given time). As a result, there is no cost for joining the Forum. Non-member foundation executives who are interested in joining the Forum will demonstrate during interviews, and from corroborating sources, their stewardship excellence advocacy, and may need to remain on a waiting list if Forum membership is at full capacity.

Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure
Members of the Forum accept as confidential the matters they discuss during the Forum's formal and informal sessions and also agree that all materials produced in connection with the Forum's proceedings are the exclusive property of the Forum and may not be disclosed by the Forum's members to non-members without the Forum's written permission.
